Our role in fighting human trafficking in Central Oregon is multi-level. We provide the coordination for the Deschutes County Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) Response Team. This team is a collaboration of agencies working together to coordinate and leverage resources to provide a comprehensive approach to child sex trafficking and services to victims and survivors.
The Response Team works to: identify and recover victims of sex trafficking; proactively investigate, identify, apprehend and prosecute those engaged in sex trafficking; and provide trauma-informed, victim-centered services to restore those impacted by child sexual exploitation.
The Domestic Victims of Human Trafficking Program at Cascade Youth and Family Center assists victims in regaining independence, safety, and stability. We work with survivors of sex and labor trafficking to create safety plans, provide comprehensive case management, and crisis intervention, as well as emotional support. Case managers also work with survivors to access community resources such as psychological counseling, medical care, emergency housing, transportation, and academic needs.
